Obituary of John D. Cvengros
John “Jack” D. Cvengros, 64, of Glastonbury, Connecticut, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Hartford Hospital following a long illness. Born in Appleton, Wisconsin on June 30, 1953, Jack was the youngest of five children of the late Stephen and Florence (Verbrick) Cvengros. The family moved from Wisconsin to Southern California in 1955, settling in Fullerton. Jack graduated from Servite High School (Class of 1971) in Anaheim and then California State University at Fullerton where he studied sociology. In 1983, he met Gayle E. D’Angelo and they married on January 5th, 1985. Jack and Gayle lived with their two children, Michael and David in Riverside, California before moving to Glastonbury, Connecticut in 1997. For over 20 years he worked as a Courier for Federal Express, before retiring in the fall of 2017 after becoming ill. He loved being outdoors, watching baseball, golf, horse racing, and gardening with his wife. His family will always remember his cooking and baking skills, and the laughter around the kitchen table. His wonderful sense of humor, infectious laughter, and constant dependability will be profoundly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. Though our hearts break due to the loss of such a wonderful man from our lives, we are comforted in knowing that he is finally free from the suffering that marked his final year on this earth. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Gayle; his two sons, Michael and David; daughter-in-law, Lindsey; his two granddaughters, Zoey and Gwendolyn; his sisters Mary Ellen Johnson, Lynn Lewis and Jean Baker; his brother, Robert Cvengros; many nieces and nephews and numerous lifelong friends.
