Obituary of Margaret B. Lewis

Margaret B. Lewis, 87, of Southington, CT and South Chatham, MA, the beloved wife of John E. Lewis, died on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Hartford. She was born in New Britain, CT, the daughter to the late Sebastian and Sebastiana (DiMauro) Brunetto. For a brief time following high school graduation, she was a proofreader and writer for McCall’s Magazine.  Marge was proud of her government security clearance obtained when she was employed by Raymond Engineering in Middletown.  Marge was a corporate officer and office manager at CT Electric Equipment Company for many years. She was a committed and active member of the Southington Republican Town Committee. She enjoyed deep sea fishing with her husband, going to the movies, an occasional trip to Las Vegas, and spending time with her family. Marge was an elegant woman of grace, strength, wisdom, and kindness. Besides her husband, Marge is survived by her daughter Susan Siracusa and her husband Robert Gilbert, her son John D. Lewis and his wife Lisa, her grandchildren Lauren Carchidi and her husband Nicholas Carchidi, Justin Lewis and Stephanie Lewis, and her great-grandchild Skyler Carchidi, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at The Congregational Church of South Glastonbury, 949 Main Street. The family will be inviting all to join them in the social hall immediately following the service. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Hearth for their gentle care of Marge.
