Obituary of Frederick Alfred Fitzner

Frederick Alfred Fitzner, 62, of Glastonbury, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Andrea (Georgeady) Fitzner. Born in Buffalo, NY, Frederick was the son of the late Alfred and Marie (Wenk) Fitzner. He is a long time Glastonbury resident, moving from Middletown thirty-five years ago. Frederick was the owner of CAF Construction for over three decades. In addition to his wife Andrea, he is survived by his two sons, Christopher Alfred Fitzner of West Hartford, Nicholas James Fitzner and his wife Jamie of Glastonbury, his sister Andrea Scranton and her husband Chris of Madison, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Carmen Fitzner of East Hartland, William and Kim Fitzner of Middletown, Richard and Katie Fitzner of Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. Frederick was predeceased by his brother Robert Fitzner. Fred was a devoted father and husband who enjoyed spending summers in Charlestown RI with close friends and family. He was also an avid New York Yankees and UConn basketball fan. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 22 at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, at 11:00 am.
