Obituary of Nancy L. Bailey

Nancy L. Bailey, 59 of Coventry, passed away at home on Sunday, December 2, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer that she bore with dignity and grace.  She was born to the late Willis and Amy Bailey on August 5^th, 1959. Nancy grew up and attended schools in Glastonbury before attending Manchester Community College.  Upon graduation she worked for the Aetna Insurance Company and then the Travelers Insurance Company for the last 28 years where she made many friends before retiring this past September. Family, friends, crafts and  gardening were Nancy’s passion and delight.  She enjoyed spending time at the family home in Goshen NH where she hiked and skied at Mount Sunapee and other resorts.  Nancy was also a long time member of the Vernon Nutmeg Quilters Guild.  She excelled at quilting, knitting and sewing and enjoyed spending her time with the other guild members at their regular gatherings and retreats.  Her family and friends have received many treasured homemade gifts throughout the years.  Nancy was an avid gardener who always looked forward to the annual planting season.  She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Steve having been to Alaska, Hawaii and on several cruises in recent years.  Nancy loved animals and has had many pets throughout her life including her cats Buddy and Maggie who were adopted 2 years ago as kittens. Nancy is survived by her husband Steve Goyette, sister Barbara of Glastonbury, brother William and spouse Laura of Amsterdam NY,  brother Charles and spouse Gae of Goshen NH, nieces Jenifer, Rachel and Emily of NY and several great nieces and nephews as well as her 2 closest long time personal friends Denise Wollack and Donna Garry who were like sisters to her.  The family wishes to thank those who cared for her in her last few months including the incredible team of doctors, nurses and health aides at Hartford Hospital and Hartford Healthcare.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 6:30pm at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm  prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hartford Healthcare.
