Obituary of Calvin Hollister

Calvin H. Hollister, 88, of South Glastonbury, husband of the late Anna (Raviola) Hollister, died Saturday September 29, 2012 at Salmon Brook Nursing Home. Born June 9, 1924 in South Glastonbury son of the late Walter S. and Vera Esther (Culver) Hollister, he was a lifelong resident. He was a grocery clerk for Gardiner's Market for 40 years. Cal was a member of the Nayaug Ancient Fife & Drum and 3rd CT. Regt., the S.A.R. and the Y.O.L.T.M. He is survived by a daughter Lucille E. Hewes and her husband Jack of Colchester, 3 grandsons; Scott Stedman and his wife Denise of South Glastonbury, Lewis Hewes and Joshua C. Hewes both of Colchester, a brother David Hollister and his wife Betty of South Glastonbury. He was predeceased by a sister Frances Vera Milardo. A graveside service will be held Thursday Oct. 4 at 2:00pm in St. Augustine Cemetery, South Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Wednesday Oct 3 from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the 3rd CT. Regiment, P.O.
