Obituary of Paul Robert Fraleigh

Paul Robert Fraleigh, 79, of Glastonbury, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Maheux) Fraleigh.

Born in Waterbury, he was the son of the late Andrew and Ruth (Windsor) Fraleigh. Paul was the founder of Fraleigh and Gray, Inc, a local insurance agency where he was an independent insurance agent for over fifty years. He was an active member of First Church of Christ Congregational, Glastonbury for three decades, where he served as a Deacon, a Stephen Minister and on several Mission Committees. Paul was a member of the Enfield Jaycees, the Simsbury Rotary Club, the Re-election Committee for Congresswoman Nancy Johnson, and the Christian Activities Council. He was a co-founder of Ducks Unlimited, Glastonbury Chapter. Paul also volunteered many years with the Hartford Food System and Foodshare. He was an avid UCONN Basketball fan. He was a master gardener and spent countless hours creating beautiful landscapes admired and enjoyed by many. Paul's greatest love was for his family and he treasured the time they spent together, especially at his cottage in Charlestown, RI.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his son Christopher Fraleigh of Wethersfield and Christopher’s fiancé Wendy Halloran, his three daughters Doreen Tarascio of Wethersfield, Kimberly McClurg and her husband Jarrett of Marlborough, Kate Balut and her husband Gregory of Wethersfield, his step daughter Stacy Wagaman of NC, his six grandchildren; Brandon and J.P. Tarascio, Maggie and Jack McClurg, Joe Balut and Haley Wagaman, his sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Tracy Mather of Shelton, and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his first wife, Peggy Fraleigh, the mother of his four children. The family wishes to thank the staff of Saint Francis Hospital and the First Church of Christ Congregational in Glastonbury for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 10:00 am at First Church of Christ Congregational, 2183 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Mulryan Funeral Home, Glastonbury is in charge of arrangements.
