Obituary of Jo-Ellen A. Jensen

Jo-Ellen “Jody” Jensen, 76, of Glastonbury, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Wesley G. Jensen for 53 years. 

Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Helen (Dery) Arbour. Jody earned her Bachelors Degree in Sociology from The College of Notre Dame. After graduation, she was a Social Worker for the State of CT and then for several years as a Principal Owner of the family’s e-commerce company Jensco, Inc. Jody enjoyed traveling on family trips, was an enthusiastic supporter of her children’s sports and activities and loved being “Nana” to her two granddaughters.

In addition to her husband, Jody is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lisa Jensen Marshall and Scott Marshall of Vernon, her son and daughter-in-law Scott and Christina Jensen of Thousand Oaks, CA, two granddaughters, Kara and Noelle Jensen and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters Frances Arbour Shaw and Shirley Arbour Fitz-Gibbon. Jody’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Hospital for the exceptional care given to her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to East Catholic High School Development Fund, East Catholic High School, 115 New State Road, Manchester, CT 06042 or the Glastonbury Volunteer Ambulance, 2112 Main St., Glastonbury, CT 06033.
