Obituary of Lena Rhea

Lena Cleora (Hooper) Rhea, 101, of Manchester, formerly of East Hartford, wife of the late Thomas Rhea, died Friday September 28, 2012 at home. Born July 12, 1911 in Hallowell, ME., daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (Coffren) Hooper, she had lived in East Hartford many years prior to moving to Manchester. Lena was a secretary for Goodyear from 1929 until 1973. She enjoyed playing cards and Bible Study at the South Congregational Church in East Hartford. She is survived by 2 nieces; Ellen (Grant) Langenfeld and her husband James and their children Raymond and Jessica of Coventry, Kelly Colbert and her husband Andrew Nibley of NY and her friend Barbara Anderson of Manchester. She was predeceased by her sisters, Eleanor Mae Kraft, Mildred Arlene Perkins, Inez Vilettie Hooper, a niece Martha Grant and a nephew Charles Perkins. Funeral service will be Saturday Oct. 13 at 10:30am in the South Congregational Church, 1301 Forbes St., East Hartford. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday Oct 12 from 5-7pm.
