Obituary of Carole E. Rebman

Carole Rebman, 78, devoted daughter of the late Earle and Esther Reckendorf, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut.  She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Tavares, her sister, Judy (Richard) Fitzgerald, and brother, Peter (Vanna) Reckendorf.  She is also survived by her nephew, Bryan (Terry) Berube and her three nieces, Allie, Gabby and Julianna Reckendorf as well as her great-nephew, Jake and great-niece, Kayla Berube.  Born in Portsmouth, NH on November 2, 1940, Carole moved to the Cape in 1961 and was a longtime resident of the Hyannis area.  She received her degree from Bridgewater State in 1966 and started her 33 years of teaching elementary education in the Barnstable School System.  Carole’s love of her family was immeasurable, and her wonderful smile would light up a room.  To know her was to love her.  Services will be private in Glastonbury, CT.  Memorial donations in memory of Carole can be made to the First Baptist Church Hyannis Food Pantry, 486 Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601.
