Ginger and I have been friends for 40+ years. Over this course of time she has been a part of my life through good times and bad. We shared problems and confidences along with a level of respect and genuine affection that was truly a gift. It was not unusual for us to take a"mystery ride" at least once every summer...a lobster dinner in Wells, Maine, a delicious salad at the Woodstock Inn in Vermont or a simple walk on the boardwalk in Niantic. Wherever the destination, there was an incomparable companionship filled with joy, laughter and occasional tears. When my husband Jim was in hospice, with no warning I showed up on Joe and Ginger's doorstep with our dog, Tallulah, and a supply of food. They took her in, no questions asked, for however long I needed. Ginger never failed to extend an invitation to every holiday at the Fay's. She had already issued a welcome to this year's Fay Thanksgiving. She needed to know I would be with family or the Fays. I am eternally grateful to have had a once-in-a-lifetime friendship with Ginger, the depth of which few understood. Life without her will never be the same, but I will cherish every memory for the rest of my life.

Ginger was a very special lady. She always asked how you and your family were doing, and you could tell she really wanted to know. You felt like you really mattered to her.

To the Fay family... my heart goes out to you all. Your wife/mom/gram was one classy lady. May all the special memories comfort you at this time. Mary: we have been through some crazy rides together...(literally)! I will never forget your mom’s generosity by volunteering to throw me my wedding shower. And for the wonderful time we had at Misquamicut treating me as one of her own, and including me in your fantastic vacation. She will be truly missed by all.
