Obituary of Mary M. Martin

Mary (Michaud) Martin, 71, of Glastonbury, CT, the beloved wife of Maxim “Jerry” Martin passed away on October 4, 2019 at Hartford Hospital after a long illness.  She was born on January 7, 1948 in Edmundston, New Brunswick and was raised in Frenchville, Maine before moving to Connecticut. Prior to moving to Glastonbury in 1974 and raising her family, Mary worked for Aetna and lived in Hartford. She is survived by her husband Jerry of 48 years, who had been her primary caregiver over the past 7 years, allowing Mary to continue to live at home and spend time with her children and grandchildren. In addition, she had 3 children: Tom Martin and his wife Megan of Portland, CT; Nancy Staten and her husband Ken of Coventry, CT; and Steve Martin of Portland, CT. She also has 5 grandchildren: Colin, Mary Beth, Luke, Juliana, and Ava. Mary also leaves behind her siblings John Michaud and his wife Karen of St. Agatha, ME; Paul Michaud and his wife Nora of Frenchville, ME; and Margaret Desjardins of St. Agatha, ME. She was predeceased by her sister Jeannie Ouellette of Edmundston, NB.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12th at 10 AM in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Road, Glastonbury.  Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Glastonbury.   Family and friends may call on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary’s name to the Manchester Dialysis Clinic in Manchester, CT. The family wants to thank everyone at the Dialysis Center for their support over the past 7 years as well as Hartford Hospital & Companions and Homemakers.
