Obituary of Robert H. Lange
Robert “Rob” Henry Lange, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed peacefully on December 17, 2019, at the age of 68. Robert is survived by his wife Sandra of 44 years; twin daughters, April Lange and Amanda Frumin, and son-in-law MJ Frumin, and two grandchildren Zelick and Bella Frumin.
Rob was born on January 1, 1951 in Hartford, CT, to George and Marjorie Lange, and was the youngest of three children. He leaves his oldest sister, Pamela and her husband Ted Waterman; and sister June Lange who predeceased him; and many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Conard High School, then received an A.A. degree from Greater Hartford Community College and B.S. degree from Central Connecticut State University, where he majored in physical education. He began as a substitute physical education teacher in the Greater Hartford area and manager at General Nutrition Center. Soon after Rob ventured to a corporate career at Amica Mutual Insurance, and recently retired this past June after 41 years of service.
Robert, also known as “Rob”, “Robbie”, "Roberto" and “Big Pops", was a hard working and devoted provider for his wife and daughters, and proud grandfather. An avid and loyal sports fan of the New York Yankees and Giants, he enjoyed attending many sporting events and games with his family and friends throughout the ages. He enjoyed sharing memories of meeting many of his favorite baseball players including Mickey Mantle. Rob was a passionate coach to his daughters sports teams, and hardball leagues that he managed. In his last days, he began attending The Heart / Greater Hartford Church of Christ and studying the bible. He will be greatly missed, and always be cherished by many, especially his best friend beagle pup, Mickey.
A memorial service to celebrate Rob’s life will be on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at The Heart / Greater Hartford Church of Christ, at 1417 Stanley Street, New Britain, Connecticut, 06053, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Please arrive at 3:00 PM.
