Obituary of Patricia Whatley

Patricia G. Whatley, 61, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Raymond C. Dampf, died Saturday January 5, 2013 at the Buckingham Estates. Born January 8, 1951 in Hartford and raised in Manchester, daughter of the late William and Mary (Stanley) Whatley she had lived in Glastonbury for the past 15 years. Pat retired from Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors a subsidiary of Mass Mutual in 2005. Prior to that she started her work career at The Aetna in 1972. Pat always enjoyed working within the community. While living in Canton she loved her time as a Girl Scout leader and her time as a member of the Canton PTA. In her retirement, she loved watching her grandkids, gardening, and to find new and challenging recipes to cook. Pat loved to travel. She truly enjoyed taking her kids to Disney World and to the beach. In her retirement she was able to visit such dream places as Mexico and the Mediterranean. Pat will be missed for her glowing smile, infectious laughter, tenacious spirit, and love for life. She always lit up the room when she walked in and had a very special way engaging even the most unsuspecting people into conversation. Besides her husband, Pat is survived by her sisters Sandra Whatley and Laura Wirtz, as well as her children Margret and Thomas and step children Nicole and Danielle and 6 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday Jan. 9 at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Tuesday Jan. 8, from 5-8pm.
