My mother had Dr. Barker when she attended St. Cloud. I followed her to St, Cloud State. I majored in Medical Technology, so I knew both Hugh and Dorothy. They were wonderful people and I am grateful for the positive influences they had on me. Their influences are part of my choice to become a physician.
When I was married in June of 1976 my husband and I stopped by their home to share a bit of our day with them. I am still using the place setting of china they generously gave us.
I thought of Dr. Hugh tonight and wanted to reach out to his family and say that neither of your parents are forgotten. My mother is still with us and she holds Dr. Hugh in her heart as well.
My mother had him for Biology in the 1950's I had him in 1972. I send my condolences.

We have such wonderful memories of our dear friend and next door neighbor, dear Hugh. Daily we would see him caring for his flowers which he loved. Often we would get a rap on the door and Hugh would have a loaf of homemade bread for us.
We have missed him and know that he is now in his glory with the Lord.
Much love to the family,
Sharon Mulcahy
