Obituary of Rose G. Gambarotta

Rose (Gionfriddo) Gambarotta, beloved wife of the late Remo (Ray) Gambarotta passed away Monday, November 30, 2020, after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born and raised in Hartford, daughter of the late Santo and Maria (Tabacco) Gionfriddo. Rose graduated from Bulkeley High School. While working as a bookkeeper, she met the love of her life, Ray. They were married for 34 years, residing in Glastonbury, raising their family, working side by side in business. She was active in Ray's Electric Service, Gionfriddo's Restaurant, Hines Sudden Service, Inc., and local property management. She leaves her daughter Joan Nilsson and her husband Jim of South Windsor; a son John Gambarotta and his wife Pam of Glastonbury; two granddaughters to whom she was Grammy, Jennifer Blanchard and her husband Nick of Broad Brook, Jaclyn Croteau and her husband Brian of Portland; three great grandchildren to whom she was Great Grammy Rose, Jacob and Emma Rose Blanchard, and Gianna Rose Croteau. She also leaves her brother Santo (Bobby) Gionfriddo, Jr. and his wife Sue of Bluffton, SC. She was predeceased by two older brothers, Michael and Frank Gionfriddo. Rose was elegant and classy. Her hair always done, impeccably dressed, known for her car and high heels. She, like her husband, had a strong work ethic living Rotary's motto "Service above Self." Rose was deeply devoted to her family. She was the happiest being surrounded by them, serving her home cooked Italian meals. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Seabury Staff, especially Georgette and Tarra, for the extraordinary care and compassion they showed Rose and her family. They would also like to thank Masonicare Hospice and Palliative Care for their assistance. Per Rose's wishes, funeral services were private.
