Obituary of Teresa D. Baribault

Teresa Baribault, formerly of Glastonbury, a beloved Mother, Nana, Gigi, sister, aunt and friend passed away on January 4, 2021 from Covid-19, just two days before her 92nd birthday.Born on January 6, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey to the late George and Rose (Zuzzio) Dante, she graduated from Barringer High School in Newark in 1947. She married the late Walter Baribault at Saint Michael’s Church in Newark on January 14, 1950. She was a longtime resident of Pearl Street in Glastonbury, CT, where she and Walter raised their family. Teresa worked for Connecticut General until she had her children. Later, she worked for Keser’s Flowers and Phoenix Mutual as a supervisor, and after her retirement from Phoenix, she helped her son with the management of his business, the Surface Plate Company. She leaves behind her three children and their spouses, Marc Baribault and his wife Ann of Hebron, Kathy Warzecha and her husband Bill of Norwich, and David Baribault and his wife Melissa of Middle Haddam; her beloved grandchildren Sarah (Mike), Callie (Chris), Katie (Anthony), Marc (David), Greg (Lauren), Nate, Will (Shannon), Allyson, Emma, Haley “Rosebud,” and Kira; her great grandchildren Jack, Stella, Wyatt, Graham, Theo, Olive, and Charles; her sister Lenora (Edward) and sisters-in-law Theresa, Delores, and Caroline (Dolly); many nieces and nephews; and “family” in Mexico including Edna, Leticia, Jose, Bertha, and Larissa. She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Walter, grandson Steven, sister Marie Montanelli, and brother Marc Dante. Teresa was a very social, strong and independent person who found no greater joy than being with her family. She was an avid gardener with an incredible green thumb. Everything she grew was voluminous and prolific, especially her roses. She was a creative and artistic person who loved arts and crafts. Teresa enjoyed knitting sweaters, hats and socks for her grandchildren and for the children at Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She traveled extensively with her husband and friends, touring Italy, Spain, Egypt, Jordan, Ireland, England, Scotland, China, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Hawaii, and many of the National Parks. Teresa loved to spend summers at her cottage in Belfast, Maine with her children and grandchildren. She was also a phenomenal cook. She often cooked Italian specialties from recipes that were passed down for generations. She loved making cookies on holidays, especially with her grandchildren. She loved her family with all her heart and we love her and will miss her with all of our hearts.
