Obituary of Antonios G. Loukas

Antonios G. Loukas, 80, of South Glastonbury passed away on Saturday, January 9. 2021 at Midstate Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Despina (Antonaras) Loukas for over 60 years.

Born in Rhodes, Greece, Antonios was the son of the late George and Maria (Hazidimitriou) Loukas. He was the owner of Tony’s Pizza in Willimantic. Antonios was a loving and dedicated husband who loved to share his meals and bring fruits to his wife everyday. They shared long conversations about their kids and grandkids, and he was known as an outstanding role model. In his wife’s words, “Antonios was the best father, grandfather, and husband anyone could have asked for.” For over 47 years he helped many people in the community including customers, employees, family members and complete strangers. Antonios was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hartford.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four sons; George A. Loukas and his wife Patricia of South Glastonbury, Constantinos Loukas of Mansfield, Evangelos Loukas of Willimantic, Christos Loukas and his wife Jocelyn of Mansfield, two sisters; Christina Revenikas and her husband Nicolas of Old Saybrook, Anastasia Kamais and her husband Savvas of Farmington, seven grandchildren; Antonio and Victoria Loukas, Antonios and Despina Loukas, Dimitrios, Constantinos and Angelina Loukas and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service and burial will be private. Friends may call on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. In order to adhere to current COVID 19 mandates, masks are required and six feet of social distancing will be maintained.
