I was saddened to see that Art had passed away. My parents had many fond memories of their time with Art and Kathy, whether it was flying kites in Bermuda or visiting the Chatham Bars Inn up on the Cape for business. Wishing all of you comfort and sweet memories.

It was our good fortune and privilege to have known Art and Kathy and family for the 44 years they were in Glastonbury. He was a good, loving, caring and not surprisingly a very successful person. We met Art and family on their first visit to the GHCC on their first visit to the pool 1969. We golfed together and socialized over the next 44 years, even in Palm Beach, FL in later years.
Our condolences to all the Tierneys.
We will miss you, Art.

Art was truly a very remarkable man and I am so glad I knew him. I have fond memories of Art coming to my workplace and having fun discussions with some of his peers that have also left us. There was always laughter or at least a chuckle when Art was around.
I can't remember a time that he didn't have that signature smile and raised eyebrows on his face. When he would get together with his customers or anyone, he instantly became their friend. One could not help but like Art.
A good man. A good life.
My condolences to his family, friends and to all that knew and loved him.
Rest in peace my friend.

My memories of the wonderful Art Tierny are many. When I was development director for Tabor House, the program in Hartford run by the Sisters of St. Joseph for homeless men with HIV/AIDS, Art was on the board. He helped me raise money by taking me around to his business friends, introducing me, and supporting me in my request for donations. He supported the galas I organized by securing sponsors and auction items. He was generous with his time, talent and resources. He was fun, had a zest for life, loved a good joke and was dazzling in his black Volvo sports car, of which I was envious. I'll be forever grateful to Art. He was a treasure and a joy.

Art's compassion for the business and all of the contractors has helped so many grow. Not only was Art a business man but also one who you could always reach out to and talk to about just about anything, a true friend.

The entire Zeilman family sends our condolences to the Tierneys. My mother Carole enjoyed over 10 years of his company and we all looked forward to seeing him weekends on Long Island. Arthur was an honorary member of our family and was with us for many special events and holidays. I have fond memories of days at the beach and dinners at Westbury Manor with Arthur. My husband Tom especially appreciated Arthur's sense of humor and they had quite a few laughs over their shared Irish heritage. Arthur was a great man and we will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.
