Obituary of Siegfried "Ziggy" Dickau
Siegfried “Ziggy” Dickau, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Sheren (Pfau) Dickau died Tuesday March 10, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Walemrak, Germany, son of the late Alexander and Antonie (Kopp) Dickau, he came to the United States in 1960 and had lived in Glastonbury for the past 42 years. Ziggy proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was the owner of Orbit Manufacturing Company where he worked as a precision machinist/engineer. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Daniel E. Dickau of Glastonbury, his daughter Tracey Smith and her husband Ryan of Harwich, MA., 2 brothers and their wives, Ewald and Helga Dickau of Simsbury, Leonhard and Jutta Dickau in Germany, a granddaughter Antonie Deborah Smith of Harwich, MA, 4 nephews and their wives, Martin and Ellen Dickau of Carlisle, MA., Perry and Katrine Dickau and their children Erich and Bergen of Hollis, NH, Alexander Dickau and Sebastian Dickau both in Germany. Ziggy will be fondly remembered for his big smile and laugh, kind heart and generosity towards others. The family would like to thank the medical workers and hospice staff on the Fourth Floor of the Conklin Building at Hartford Hospital for taking such good care of Ziggy during his last days.
