Obituary of Robert D. Palochko
Bob Palochko, beloved husband of Jane Rochford, passed away on March 11, 2021. Born to the late Cecelia Lach and John Palochko on April 29, 1956, he was the youngest of 3 boys and grew up in the south end of Hartford.
Having lost both his parents and one brother at a young age, Bob was a quiet introspective individual who found great serenity and pleasure in listening to classical music and jazz. He loved going to concerts at Lincoln Center, Boston Symphony Orchestra and Tanglewood. He had an amateur radio license and enjoyed golf for much of his life, but more than anything would spend most of his free time reading. Bob was an avid reader of political news and literature, biographies of composers and technical computer science books and spent many hours listening to YouTube educational videos. He also took pleasure in playing with his dog, Frankie, who would spend hours with him and was very responsive to his voice. Very resourceful with a range of knowledge and skill, Bob was always there for family members who needed his help. His relationship with his brother John was very special, where John was big brother, friend and surrogate father in Bob’s early years and Bob always tried to be there for John. Bob had recently retired from Amtrak Engineering and was enjoying his new found freedom and looking forward to the adventures that come with retirement.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jane, nephew Jonathan Palochko, sisters-in-law Joanne Palochko, Susan Rochford, Celia Rochford and Ann Rochford and brothers-in-law, Tim Rochford and Paul Rochford, all of whom will sorely miss his sense of humor, intellectual conversation and wonderful smile.
May he find contentment and serenity to again be with his brothers John Jr and Tommy and his parents, Cecelia and John.
