Obituary of Catherine L. Stanavage
Catherine Lucille Stanavage, 99, of New Milford, known as “Granny,” passed away peacefully on March 17, 2021 with her granddaughters close by. She was born in Hartford Connecticut on March 28, 1921 to Frank and Lucy (Leardi) Aieta. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russell Stanavage, son Russell Anthony Stanavage, daughter-in-law Mary Ann Henry, sisters Antoinette Lombardo and Teri Zinn, and brother Philip Aieta. She was the faith-filled, joke telling, prayer warrior grandmother to Debi Neeb and her husband Bill of New Milford; Deanna Varljen and her husband Frank of Virgina. Her pride and joy were her great-grandchildren; Savannah Rummel and her husband Will, Brooke Smith, Macesin Smith, Maddie Neeb, Amanda Neeb, Will Neeb, Jeff Varljen his wife Dabney and daughter Betsie Ann, and Samantha Varljen. Catherine cherished her many extended family members and close friends. She loved Jesus, family celebrations, time at the beach, and spending hours keeping in touch through the phone.
