Obituary of Matthew Quinn Fresk

Matthew Quinn Fresk, age 26, passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2021.  Matt was born June 22, 1995 in Boise Idaho, the son of David Fresk and Kristina Keene. A 2013 Glastonbury High School graduate, Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut in 2017. While at UCONN he was a member of the business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi and active with the UConn athletic department. Upon graduation, Matt worked for Indeed.com in Stamford, Connecticut.  Matt’s passion was golf. Whether out on the course with family and friends, or with strangers who often became friends, Matt loved the competition but more importantly the camaraderie. A loyal Celtics fan, he could be found cheering enthusiastically in front of the TV or obsessively checking his phone for the latest score. Matt had a love of all animals, even the ones he was allergic to. He enjoyed discussing current events and politics, debating memorably with anyone willing to indulge him.  With a kind and generous soul, always thinking of others, Matt was known to surprise those he loved with thoughtful gifts. Easy going, caring and with an infectious smile, Matt had an endless flow of friends and left a lasting impression on those he met, both adults and children alike. The oldest of four boys, Matt is survived by his father and mother, his stepmom Cyndi, his brothers Andy, Daniel and Matthew, grandparents Neil and Judy Fresk, uncles and aunts, Marc and Lauren Herring and their children Will and Sarah, Richard and Nicole Keene and their children Livia and Michael and Norman Sauer and Stephan Krucker. Matt is also survived by his loving extended family: the Gavornik’s, the Hanington’s and the Jennings. Matt was predeceased by his grandmother Annamaria Sauer. A memorial service celebrating Matt's life was held on Saturday, August 28th at The Glastonbury Boathouse. Memorial donations can be made to Protectors of Animals, 144 Main St., East Hartford, CT. 06118.  For online condolences please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
