Obituary of Geno A. Draghi

Geno Anthony Draghi, 90, of South Glastonbury, beloved husband of Sandra (Fortier) Draghi, died peacefully Tuesday August 24, 2021 at home. Born October 18, 1930 in Hartford, son of the late Angelo and Josephine (Scaglia) Draghi, he was a life long resident of South Glastonbury. Geno owned and operated E. Draghi & Sons in South Glastonbury. Geno was the last of nine Draghi’s. He was a member of the Matson Hill Community Club, was an avid New York Yankees fan, loved farming and had served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He enjoyed traveling to Italy (10 times) where his parents were from and visiting family. But most Geno loved his bride Sandy and his family. Besides his wife he is survived by his three children and their spouses, Darrell and Dianne Draghi, Michael and Mary Beth Draghi, and Cheryl and Kevin Martin all of South Glastonbury. He was predeceased by seven brothers and a sister, Larry, Aldo, Louise, Nathan, Edward, David, Andrew and Peter.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 30 at 10am in Ss. Isidore and Maria Parish at St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Sunday August 29 from 2-5pm.
