Obituary of Fulvio A. Colantonio

Fulvio A. Colantonio, 68, of Glastonbury, passed away at home on Sunday, August 29, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Susanne M. (Pelletier) Colantonio for 45 years.

Born in Carrufo, Italy, he was the son of the late Armando and O’ Siena (Celli) Colantonio. Fulvio earned his Bachelor’s Degree and pursued a career in Civil Engineering. He was a former resident of Marlborough for over forty years, moving to Glastonbury three years ago.

In addition to his wife, Fulvio is survived by his son Eric Colantonio and his wife Angela of Marlborough, his daughter Jaclyn Brancato and her husband Robert of Glastonbury, his grandchildren Grant and Avery Colantonio, Emanuella and Vincent Brancato, his brother Gastone Colantonio and his wife Holly of Wethersfield, his sister-in-law Mimma Colantonio of Wethersfield and several nieces and nephews, and extended family. Fulvio was predeceased by his brother Sergio Colantonio. Fulvio was born in a small mountain village in Italy, moving to the south end of Hartford at the age of 9.  This is where he met his lifelong friends, “The Barker Street Gang,” and began his love story with Sue at the age of 17. Fulvio raised his family in Marlborough, and was a strong presence in the community. He began working in real estate as a Broker, opening his own office. This eventually lead to working as a general contractor in development and residential construction. Fulvio loved life. He was a music enthusiast, especially his favorite Willie Nelson. He loved cooking, and enjoyed preparing meals for his family and friends, especially his homemade pasta. He loved eating fresh figs off his brother’s fig tree.  But above all, Fulvio loved his family. His greatest accomplishment in life was being “Nonno” to his four beautiful grandchildren.  You would always find him at every single one of the kids activities, cheering them on and being their biggest fan.  He will be remembered by all as a kind and gentle soul.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Ss. Isidore and Maria Parish at St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Marlboro Cemetery, Marlborough. Friends may call on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury.
