To remember Betty is to remember the the idyllic upbringing on Hopewell Heights in South Glastonbury. We were the closest of neighbors and friends. The Hollisters and the Pinettes. Next-door-neighbors. Betty was our second mom. If we scraped a knee it was fixed there ,we weren't sent home. Millly and Betty having coffee "and" on the Pinettes patio under the awning. Our dads working hard to transform our humble Matson Mill houses into quaint country homes. Betty calling for her husband Rey when he was out working in the vegetable garden: "DEAR!" The fiant,quaint French-Canadian accent. We knew all the Pinette kids middle names from when they were in trouble. Michael Stephen! Sheila Ann! Lois Joan! David Bruce! Audrey Ellen! Jenny....well Jenny was the baby, She could do no wrong. We knew each others aunts and uncles and would popover to say hi when they visited.
