This note comes in great thanks. Lynn was the sole reason I was able to live out my college career and be the strong family man I am today. Lynn, I wish I got to work with you more and learn more about how wonderful you were as a human being. Without people like you in this world hope couldn’t exist. I one day will do as you did for me and hope to make as much of an impact in someone’s future as you did mine.
To the Willsey Family, my condolences. If you would ever need anything please look me up in Boston. Lynn, thank you and as always “Bobcat Pride”!

We are very sad that Lynn died, but we are not sad because he did not suffer. So that is a good thing. He was a very good grandfather and a very good person. We loved him so much. We will see him in Heaven someday and we all love him. Cooper, Camden, Cynthia, Jamie, and me are very sad that he died and, Beverly.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lynn. He was such a dear, kind, gentle person whom I so enjoyed spending time with. I got to know Lynn during his tenure as a member of the Bates Board of Trustees and our friendship continued after his retirement from the Board. He always made sure to connect with me when he was on campus for Reunion, or to celebrate in his grandson's graduations, always so proud. And with each visit back to Bates, he would deliver the much loved and very tasty maple syrup from the Willsey farm in VT. My husband and I got to visit their place in Vermont a few years ago -- and sat in their living room looking out at the beautiful view and listened to stories about how they came to build the house, the story of how he acquired the beautiful bench that fits perfectly below that ever expanding window, about the family maple syrup business, and also reminisced about Bates. It was a perfect sunny fall afternoon with two amazing individuals. I will always remember Lynn's smile, his laugh, and his kindness. My deepest condolences to Bev and the entire Willsey family.

I'd like to express my sincerest sympathies to Beverly & the Willsey family on the loss of Lynn. I worked for him for several years in the Group Department & remember him always whistling as he left his office & returned to it. He had such a pleasant personality.

My deepest condolences and sympathies go to Bev and the entire Willsey family. Lynn was a wonderful and great mentor to me and so many other young actuaries in the formative years of our careers at The Travelers. Lynn and Bev were also friends of my parents back in the late 1950s/early 1960s at Asbury Methodist Church here in Glastonbury and many years later Lynn remembered being present at my baptism! Lynn's love of music extended to his sons, with whom I shared great musical experiences during our years at Glastonbury High School in the mid-1970s. Lynn always took a keen interest in my personal and professional life. In his retirement years, I was fortunate to play many enjoyable rounds of golf with Lynn -- with his calm demeanor and enthusiastic love of the game, I always played my best golf in the presence of my friend and mentor! The last time I saw Lynn was up at "The Hills" a while back after a round of golf with another friend and fellow actuary from our days at The Travelers -- he lit up and was truly happy to see both of us and, of course, we spent time catching up on family and what was going on in our lives. Positive, engaging, charitable, and always a joy to be with, Lynn Willsey was a true gentleman. I will be eternally grateful for all that he selflessly gave to me and so many others. He will be truly missed and will always occupy a very special place in our hearts.
Most sincerely and respectfully,
Charlie Vest
