Obituary of Joan R. Alton
Joan LaCroix-Alton age 88, life-long resident of Glastonbury ascended to heaven on Monday April 18th at Hartford Hospital after a long illness.
Joan was born to the late Marcel LaCroix and Albertine Simard. She was a school bus driver for many years for the Glastonbury Public Schools. She was a devoted Roman Catholic and a parishioner of St. Paul's church for over 60 years. She enjoyed collecting birds and fish and tended to many fish tanks. She loved to shop and enjoyed weekend tag sales. She also enjoyed her flower gardens. Joan was most happy when her family gathered for birthdays and holidays and weekend card games. Family was her life’s joy.
Joan is predeceased by her husband, Robert T. Alton, who was her rock and sisters Marjorie Barker, Pauline LaCroix and Susie Esposito.
She is survived by her sister Bonnie Sargent and brother Richard LaCroix and her 5 children Charles and Jeffrey Alton of East Hartford, Pamela VanSoest, Judith Simpson and Thomas Alton of Glastonbury as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will be having a private funeral service followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ss. Isidore and Maria Parish at St Paul Church and private burial.
