Obituary of Elena Novoa

Elena (Garcia) Novoa, 95, of Glastonbury, wife of the late Dimas Novoa, died Thursday May 2, 2013 at Salmon Brook Nursing Home. Born April 20, 1918 in Spain, daughter of the late Serafin and Generosa Garcia, she had lived in Glastonbury since 1985. Elena loved gardening and baking. She is survived by her daughter Generosa Mendez of Glastonbury, her son Edelmiro Novoa and his wife Concha Turiel of Spain, 4 grandchildren; Maria Scherban of Marlborough, Emilio Mendez, Jr. of Glastonbury, Rosa Mari Novoa and Belen Novoa both in Spain, 6 great grandchildren; Michael and Christina Scherban of Marlborough, Nicolas Mendez of Southington, Tatiana Mendez of Glastonbury, Alejandro Sanchez and Paula Corrales in Spain. She was predeceased by her brother Edelmiro Garcia and her son-in-law Emilio Mendez, Sr. Funeral service will be Wednesday May 8, 10:15am from the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, to St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.
