Obituary of Richard E. Kowalsky, Jr.
Richard E. Kowalsky Jr. 74, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully at Middlesex Hospital on November 29, 2022. He was born in Hartford, eldest son to Richard and Giovanna Kowalsky. He was predeceased by his wife, of 54 years, Deborah (Kuszai). They were lifelong residents of Glastonbury CT. He is survived by two sons, Richard E. Kowalsky III and Jason D. Kowalsky of Glastonbury. He leaves two brothers, James of Colchester and Norman of Vernon, and two sisters, Brenda George of Dover NH and Lori Lindbom of Port Richey FL.
Rich loved camping with his family and enjoyed the RV life and the people and places that came with this adventure. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. It was a family tradition that they all enjoyed.
Rich inherited the love of fishing that the Kowalsky family was known for. One of the sweetest last memories was a fishing trip arranged for him while he was living with his sister in Florida.
His passion was race cars. This passion began at a young age and stayed with him throughout his life. He passed this down to his son, who followed in his dad’s footsteps. Whether he was driving his ’55 Chevy Stock car on the track, fixing cars, helping in the pits, or watching the races, his love of the sport was never ending. After every race there was always lively discussion with friends and loved ones.
