Obituary of Hugh M. Brautigam
Hugh (Mike) Brautigam, formerly of South Glastonbury, Connecticut and Pawlet, Vermont, died December 26 at Covenant Living of Cromwell.
Mike earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and graduated early to join the U.S. Army Air Forces and serve in WWII. He retired in 1980 from Pratt & Whitney and moved to Vermont where he built his log cabin and spent many happy years in the garden, the swimming pool and the snow with family and friends.
Rena, his wife of 70 years, and his three brothers, Herb, Robert, and Lawrence, all pre-deceased him
He is survived by his loving children: David (Missy), Gretchen (Scott), Donald (Beth), Karen (John) and Ann (George); nine grandchildren: August, Noah, Misa, Shana, Noami, Tisha, Nias, Odin, and Jeffrey; and nine great-grandchildren: Ayla, Haley, Parker, Lukas, Claire, Markus, Asher, Neta and Edie as well as several nieces and nephews
No services are planned. Burial at a later date will be private.
