Obituary of Geraldine B. Kane
Geraldine (Dina) Babson Kane, 81, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Osman and Geraldine Babson. Dina attended schools in Gloucester, and the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont, where she was the President of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She worked in the Bloomfield Schools as a High School English teacher, and later worked for a family-owned business, Nutmeg Papers. She was later a Title Abstractor for Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company and for several local law firms. But her greatest joy was raising her family and the time spent with them.
In addition to her beloved husband of 56 years, Thomas P. Kane, she is survived by her son, Thomas B. Kane and his wife Wendy of Colchester, Connecticut and their daughters, Hailynn and Gracyn Kane; and by her son Jeremy S. Kane and his wife Christine of Monroe, Connecticut and their sons Tyler and Owen Kane. She is also survived by her sister Karin Eisenberg and her husband James of Newfield, New York; her sister Marcia Rogers of Haverhill, Massachusetts; and her sister Linda Rennie and her husband Howard of New Brunswick, Canada. She also leaves her cat, Ali, who disliked everyone but her.
