Obituary of William Rawlings

William S. Rawlings, 81, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Eleanor (Standrowicz) Rawlings, died Thursday July 4, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. Born May 6, 1932 in Boston, MA, son of the late John N. and Agnes (Patterson) Rawlings, he had lived in Glastonbury since 1957. He was an engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 38 years retiring in 1992. He received his BA in Engineering from M.I.T. and was a First Lieutenant in the US Army. Besides his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law David and Pamela Rawlings of Northborough, MA, a daughter Jean Rawlings of Glastonbury and 2 grandchildren Matthew and Marissa Rawlings. Funeral and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, c/o Fund Development Office, Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour St., Hartford, CT. 06102-5037.
