Born June 16, 1931 in Manchester, son of the late Clement J., Sr. and Isabelle, he had lived in Glastonbury for the past sixty-one years. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1949, was Captain of his track team, and won an individual state title in the 50 yard dash. Clement received an undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in 1953, where he continued his track and field career. He served in Munich Germany with the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant from 1953-1955, and was in Active Reserves from 1955-1957.  Clem attended the University of Connecticut School of Law from 1955-1958, and passed the Bar Exam on August 12, 1958. He then formed a partnership for general practice of law with Atty. Wynne of Glastonbury, where he practiced for the entirety of his career. Clement has been a member of Exchange Club since he joined in 1962. He was President of the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce from 1967-1968. He was also a member of the Glastonbury Free Academy until his passing. Clem was a longtime member of First Church of Christ Congregational and over the years held the role of President, served on the Board of Deacons, as well as volunteered at Food Share. He was passionate about golfing and was a member of Glastonbury and Tallwood Country Club. Clement also enjoyed to read, do crossword puzzles, play tennis, travel with his late wife and watch UConn basketball games. Clem had a very special bond with his grandson and loved to watch him participate in all of his activities. He had a great sense of humor and found joy in making others happy. When asked what was important to him, Clem responded family, faith and respecting others. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Clem is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Clem is survived by his three children Clement J. Pontillo, III of North Carolina, Jeffrey R. Pontillo of California, Susan M.
