Marty was a year ahead of me in high school. Great guy. I bought my first musical instrument amplifier from him, as we were both aspiring keyboard players in rock bands in our hometown of Glastonbury.
His mom was my Catechism teacher and she'd always have a fantastic Christmas party for our entire class at their house. She was loads of fun and they were all very generous.
I enjoyed reading of Marty's many achievements in business and I was looking forward to the project Marty had planned for my town of Cromwell to supplant the abandoned hotel. Marty left our world in a much better place than he found it.

Once upon a time - so long ago - I worked on Trumbull on the Park in downtown Hartford as the lead Project Engineer. It was my first midrise apartment & parking garage precast plank project. Behind the main building there were also two challenging historic buildings we renovated, as well. To say the least, I learned a lot!
Marty was the developer. It was one of his 1st big projects too. Business was Business to Marty and on this type of project I would expect nothing less. But at the end of the day, Marty did have a good heart and always took the time to say hello when I saw him out and about. I am forever thankful for having had the opportunity to work on this project and.
My sincere condolences to Marty's family and all who called him friend.
