Obituary of Philip Lennox
Philip Lennox, 94, of South Glastonbury passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Velva Lennox for over 66 years.
Phil will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend; for his kindness, his generous spirit, and his quick wit.
Born in Salem, MA, Phil grew up in Marblehead, MA, and was the son of the late Lawrence and Rilda (Love) Lennox. He is predeceased by his brothers Kenneth, James, his twin Paul, and sister Mary Lou Brown. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Philip owned and operated the United Paint and Wallpaper Company in Wethersfield CT for over 50 years as well as a second United Paint and Wallpaper store in Glastonbury CT. He was an officer for the National Decorating Products Association. Philip and his wife Velva were winter residents of Sanibel Island, FL and Santa Ynez, CA. He was an avid sports fan and season ticket holder of the NY Giants and the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational, Glastonbury.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 2183 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford immediately afterwards. There are no calling hours. For online condolences, please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
