Obituary of Pauline Ponchak

Pauline Ponchak (Duquette) was born on June 14, 1925 in Fall River, MA. She moved with her family to East Hartford where she went to and graduated from East Hartford High School in 1943. Pauline met and married the boy next door, Robert Ponchak, They were married for 65 years. She worked for Liberty Mutual in her teen years. From there she worked as a secretary for First National Stores for many years. She also worked for three years as a math teacher for Saint Rose School in East Hartford. Pauline then went on to work for the Connecticut State Health Department and retired from there. Pauline loved to knit, sew, paint, do crewel work and make quilts, big or small, it didn't matter. She is survived by her husband, Robert Ponchak and her daughter, Catherine Miller (Ponchak). She also has many nieces and newphews located in MA, ME, CT, IN, and upstate NY. Pauline will also be very much missed by her many friends, which were like family to her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 10:00a.m. in Saint Paul Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury. Friends may call at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury Monday August 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center Fund, 85 Retreat Ave., Hartford.
