Obituary of Carol Ann McClain

Carol Ann (Brawley) McClain, 77, of South Glastonbury passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. She was the widow of James McClain. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Carol Ann was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Elizabeth (Charbeneau) Brawley. She worked at Bell Labs for years where she met Janet Schaefer, who became a lifelong friend. In the mid 60’s Carol moved to South Glastonbury with her new husband Henry, where she raised their three children. She worked for the Connecticut Department of Labor for many years making many lasting relationships. 

Carol Ann is survived by her daughter Lara Boyer of Glastonbury and her sons David Boyer of South Glastonbury, his wife Erin and their daughters Stephanie Sirois and Trinidy Schuberth and James Boyer of Loveland, CO with his wife Heidi. She is also survived by her brother Michael, of Rocky Hill and his wife Lee, as well as many nieces and nephews. Carol enjoyed family gatherings, canoeing and especially the annual Boyer ‘pig roasts’. She loved sewing and was quite proficient at creating children's clothes.  Carol always had a smile for everyone and all who knew her spoke of her kind heart, patience, gentle innocence and generosity.
