John was an outstanding mentor to me during a very difficult time in my life. I am married and have 3 children (one with a disability) and was in between jobs looking for something within my college degree. John helped me by guiding me with a resume, time in prayer together and general overall encouragement during a very stressful time. God brought John into my life. With all that he accomplished in life he could have dismissed me and did something more significant than helping a man and father land a job. He obviously helped my entire family and was someone I could confide in without judgment. I'll miss him for now but we'll certainly have a good hug in heaven someday!

In his lovely home, John was a very welcoming and gracious host at many Sunday afternoon get togethers and holiday potluck dinners. One day as I was recovering from some broken bones, he and another friend, Jim Pitcher, gave great encouragement and fellowship by taking me to lunch to celebrate the start of recovery. !!!! Oh, and then I remember the time I locked my keys in the car at west side of Fair Haven State Park…Thanksgiving weekend. John drove up to get me; drove me home (Liverpool) to get another key; and BACK to Fair Haven to get into the car. NOW THAT’S A FRIEND INDEED! I will miss him but…the future awaits. All Praise to Christ!

John was a beautiful man of God ! His heart was so big and he captured the true essence of Christ Jesus. I am beyond blessed to have shared his friendship over many years. John’s kindness never stopped as I would often find cards and words of continued encouragement at just the right time ( the Lords timing) in my mailbox after he moved to Connecticut to be closer to his family. I am blessed beyond measure to call him my friend. May you truly rest in the shadow of the most High John ! You will be missed dearly.

John was a man of such integrity with a passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved the Lord and looked forward to the day he would meet Him, so we can rejoice with the angels as he has entered the arms of his loving Savior. John and I had great conversations over breakfast once a month at the Cottage Restaurant in Baldwinsville. He was the best friend a person could ever want. I’m going to miss him very much. Goodbye John, but only until I meet you on the other side. Your sister in Christ, Mare
