Obituary of Katherine Eurto

Katherine L. (Smith) Eurto, 87, of Glastonbury, wife of the late Charles O. Eurto, died Monday November 28, 2011 at home. Born August 7, 1924 in Rocky Hill, daughter of the late Carl and Wilhelmina (Hall) Smith she had lived in Glastonbury since 1947. Prior to her retirement she worked in Group Pensions for Connecticut General for over 25 years. She was a 50 year member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Glastonbury. She received her BA from the University of Hartford in June 1979 and was a past member of the Garden Club and the PTA in Glastonbury. She enjoyed reading and traveled extensively with her husband throughout Europe, Egypt, the Middle East and the United States. She is survived by her 3 sons and daughters-in-law; James O. and Pauline Eurto of Coventry, Irving J. and Verna Eurto of Norwich, Raymond C. and Lorraine Eurto of Glastonbury, 5 grandchildren Eric Eurto, Lindsay Eurto, Aaron Malouin, Jonathan Malouin, Charles Yeager and 4 great grandchildren Emily, Ethan, Lucienne and Joelle. She was predeceased by a grandson Shane Eurto and a brother Kenneth Smith. Funeral service will be Friday Dec. 2 at 11am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday Dec. 1 from 5-8pm.
