Obituary of Brigitte M. Woolsey

Brigitte M. Woolsey, of Glastonbury, formerly of East Haven and Millbrook New York, died Friday, April 19, 2024 at the age of 85. She was born in Switzerland on June 18, 1938 to the late Charles and Marguerite (Schweitzer) Berner. Brigitte came to the United States with her husband Jacques Ruch in 1963 where she had 2 children.  Subsequently, she married Theodore “Ted” Woolsey III and spent the next 22 years nurturing an expanded family. Brigitte was a tax assistant and co-owner of a small-business counseling services company with Ted, retiring in 1998. Brigitte was a member of the Congregational Church in South Glastonbury and the Friendship Circle at the Glastonbury Senior Center.

Brigitte loved to share her heritage and many special meals from Switzerland but her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She loved to hear all about each one of their accomplishments and felt so proud of each of them.   

She is survived by her daughter Tatiana Geist and her husband, Bill, of South Glastonbury, her son Sacha Ruch and his wife, Leslie, of Tarpon Springs, FL, her stepsons, Richard Woolsey, Tad Woolsey and Tim Woolsey, her stepdaughters Jean Borgman and Terri Woolsey, her grandchildren Nicole, Danielle, Hunter, Danae, Liz, Tim, Jessie, Cassidy, Mary, Charlie, Christy, Tim, Kurt, Teddy, Annika, and the late Richard and Sara. 

Brigitte is also survived by her brother Charles Andre Berner and his wife, Marie-Claude, of Switzerland and their children.
