Obituary of Lee Ann Manning

Lee Ann (Turnbull) Manning, 67, of Glastonbury, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 with her husband, Michael, and her daughter, Mackenzie, by her side.

Born in Lynn, MA, Lee Ann was the daughter of the late Robert and Betty (Charon) Turnbull. She worked in Student Services for several public schools for many years, where she demonstrated and deepened her love of children and education.

Lee Ann was an avid crafter and artist, who brought joy to people with her thoughtful hand-made gifts. She was a devoted friend to many, who brightened the room with her famous smile and infectious laugh. She cared deeply about our community and instilled in her family a penchant for service, philanthropy, and kindness.

A lover of all animals, Lee Ann could often be found outside feeding the birds (and inadvertently, the squirrels) with her dog, Finn, and her Grand-Fur, Goose. Her family is comforted in the belief that a long line of cherished pets were there to greet her at Rainbow Bridge on Saturday morning.

Lee Ann’s greatest joy was being a partner to Michael and a mom and best friend to Mackenzie. While her passing was all too soon and leaves an unfillable void, her life filled them with love and purpose. Her determination, integrity, and sense of humor were a remarkable example of a life well lived.

In addition to Michael and Mackenzie, Lee Ann leaves her two treasured sisters, Debbie Spadafora of Saugus, MA and Sherry Smith and her husband Philip of Coral Springs, FL. Lee Ann was predeceased by her beloved brother-in-law Billy Spadafora. Lee Ann’s boundless love will be carried on in the nieces and nephews that she loved as her own, her dear friends, adored family, and everyone whose lives she touched.

A celebration of Lee Ann’s life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Friends and family may call on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lee Ann’s honor and memory to Hartford Hospital, designated to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center, (https://giving.hartfordhospital.org/donate/) whose doctors, nurses, and staff helped extend our precious time with her and became a loving and supportive community for Lee Ann over her nine years of treatment there. The Manning Family is grateful for each and everyone of them.
