Obituary of Cheryl A. DiNeno

Cheryl A. DiNeno, 54, of Glastonbury, passed away unexpectedly at Yale New Haven Hospital Friday, August 30, 2024. She was born on July 3, 1970 in Hartford to William T. DiNeno and Mary C. DiNeno of Naples, FL. Cheryl was a graduate of Glastonbury High School’s Class of 1988 and waitressed at Scott’s Luncheonette throughout high school. She went on to earn an associates degree from Springfield Technical Community College and spent her early working years as a court stenographer. Cheryl’s most cherished role was as a mother to her three beautiful children – Marisa, Anthony and Michael Grant.

Cheryl was a huge part of the Glastonbury community. She coached many years for the Glastonbury Girls Softball League and volunteered for organizations such as Glastonbury Health Care and Camp Sunrise. Cheryl regularly attended town events including concerts on the green, holiday parades and festivals, local sports games, and planned her high school reunions. She could often be found riding around on her moped and visiting her favorite breakfast spots in town.

Cheryl was a devoted mother who loved her children more than anything. She was especially close with her father who she viewed as her hero. They had a lot of similar interests including rooting for the Yankees alongside her mother. Cheryl also enjoyed spending time with her Nana C., watching game shows and playing cards. They even traveled to California to watch a live taping of the Price Is Right and made it to the big stage.

Besides her parents, Cheryl is survived by her cherished children, Marisa, Anthony, and Michael Grant of Glastonbury, CT; Her beloved brother William T. DiNeno Jr. (Francis Gallagher) of Springfield, Mass; sisters Elizabeth DiNeno of Naples, FL and Patricia DiNeno of Glastonbury, CT. Nieces Ashley Aloma (Andy) & Shannon Talbot, and nephew Michael Talbot. Beloved Aunt Patricia Rakauskas along with many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cheryl also leaves behind many dear, lifelong friends. She will be deeply missed by all.
