DEBORAH ANN BELLODY posted a condolence
Wednesday, October 9, 2024
Hello,
My deepest condolences to Jean and the girls. Al (and John Newman) hired me as a young 22 year old in September, 1975 at ABC. I continued to work with him until September, 1985 when the company was BBC. Because of my employment there, I was able to attend college by utilizing the tuition reimbursement program and eventually received my BS in BA with a major in Acctg. I have used that education with great success thanks to Al giving me the opportunity to work for him.
I will always fondly remember the pool parties at the clubhouse that were hosted by Al and Jean for our department. We also had annual Halloween parties and I recall one year Al dressed up as a "flasher". He secured a camera around his waist, and when he opened up his trench coat, the flash would go off. I have a picture of that somewhere. We had a lot of laughs and my time at ABC and BBC is one of my favorite jobs. I met alot of great people, learned alot, and was able to get a college education that may not have been possible otherwise.
May Al rest in peace, and I will ALWAYS fondly remember him and my years of working for and with him. May the family find peace in knowing that he was appreciated and will always be remembered.
Debby (Deborah) Bellody

Al and Jean were close friends of my mother, Betty Gay. It was during the period when my mother and her husband were relocating to California that the Wagners became our close friends. The help and support Al gave our family as we negotiated that difficukt move will never be forgotten. In the intervening years we saw each other in Glastonbury and in Pasadena. What a kind and dear man Al was. Always so quietly cheerful and helpful. I will keep the image of him as he was on our last visit - on a boat ride down the Connecticut River, my friend forever in my heart. Barbara Christopher.
