Obituary of Emilio Mendez, Jr.

Emilio Mendez Jr. passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2024, at the age of 56. Born in Hartford, CT, he moved to Glastonbury in his teen years and resided there most of his life.

Emilio Jr. followed in his father’s footsteps and worked in construction. Emilio was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor.  He was also clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences.

He will be remembered for the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved spending time with his family and friends. 

Although Emilio is gone, he will live in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his three children, Nicholas Mendez, Tatiana Mendez and Alianna Mendez; his mother, Generosa Mendez; his sister, Maria Mendez, along with his niece and nephew, Cristina and Michael; an uncle in Spain, Edelmiro Novoa and many cousins throughout the states and in Spain.  He also was a lifetime lover of dogs, and he leaves behind his beloved dog, Roxy. He was preceded in death by his father, Emilio Mendez and grandmother, Elena Novoa.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury.
