Obituary of Gerald Alan Batchelder
Gerald Alan Batchelder, 72, devoted husband of Lois (Pinette) Batchelder passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at home after a brave battle with cancer.
He was born December 19, 1951 in Howland, Maine, the son of Irvin and Ethel (Berry) Batchelder. After he graduated high school (Penobscot) in 1970 he joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1971 to 1979 and where he met the love of his life, Lois. Gerald worked as a metrologist his whole life and most recently at Medtronics in New Haven until he retired in 2020. In retirement Gerry enjoyed “playing “in his yard and took immense pride in making sure his lawn was meticulous. He also enjoyed trips with his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife of 49 years, Lois, Gerry is survived by his daughter Sara Batchelder and her fiancé Christopher Lee of Boston, MA; his son Adam Batchelder and his wife Elena of Millville, MA and their two beautiful children who were the light of his life, Ryan and Harper Batchelder. Gerry is also survived by his siblings Muriel Curtis, Evellyn and her husband Glenn Rideout; and several nieces and nephews, he was predeceased by siblings, Irvin Jr., Norman, Ronald, Phyllis and James.
As a loving Husband, Dad, and Papa we will forever be grateful for his gentle demeanor, mischievous smile, work ethic, faith, patience, positivity, his quiet strength and mostly his love. He will live in our hearts forever.
