Obituary of Catherine A. Gallant

Catherine Anne Gallant, 82, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Reginald Gallant, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Montreal, Canada on February 15, 1942 to the late Bartholomew and Dorothy (Doyle) Donovan.

Catherine was a graduate from McGill University and Notre Dame Secretarial School.

In 1964 Catherine moved from Montreal to Connecticut and worked for Olivetti Underwriter Corporation, where she met her husband - Reginald. She also worked at LIMRA, Gallant Associates, Inc. and the Diamond Restaurant.

Catherine was an active member of Mensa in New England and the Glastonbury Elks Club. She was a lifelong member of the Glastonbury Irish Club and the Westerly Yacht Club. She was a past officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Cathy had a love of travel and flew off often to visit her brother in Nevada, friends back in Montreal and other exotic places.

She is survived by her brother, Jeremiah Donovan (& Agnus Donovan), of Pahrump, NV, her daughters Cindy Heidi Gallant, of Rocky Hill, CT, Ruth Gallant Bjorklund, of Clinton, WA and Rhonda Gallant Hamm (& Steve Hamm), of Fox Island, WA, her three grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by all her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Catherine was a beautiful and thoughtful girl who made many lifelong friends at a young age. Regardless of where she lived throughout her life these friends remained close and dear to her.  These friends lasted a lifetime and brought Catherine great joy throughout her life.  She was a true member of the Tupper Street Gang! Catherine is and will be sorely missed by all.
