Obituary of Anthony Barbagallo

Anthony J. Barbagallo, Sr., 86, of Newtown formerly of Glastonbury, died Sunday December 1, 2013 at Danbury Hospital. Born June 3, 1927 in Lawrence, MA, son of the late Louis and Rose (Funari) Barbagallo he had lived in Glastonbury for 40 years moving to Newtown a short time ago. Prior to his retirement he was an upholsterer for Dun-Rite Upholstering Co. in East Hartford. Anthony was a member of the Italian American Club and the Elks in East Hartford and served in the US Navy during World War II. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Anthony J. and Donna Barbagallo of Sandy Hook, a daughter and son-in-law Gail M. and Brian Reeves of Guilford, two grandchildren Maxwell Barbagallo and Chandler Reeves and his loving companion Jeannette Pelletier of Glastonbury. He was predeceased by two brothers John and Sam Barbagallo and three sisters Mary Bysko, Angie Zukowski and Josephine Barbagallo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday Dec.6 at 10:30am in Our Lady of Peace Church, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Thursday Dec. 5 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, CT.
