Obituary of Ruth Wood

Ruth (Trumbull) Wood, wife of the late Rev. Howard M. Wood, Jr., died Wednesday December 18, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. Born June 4, 1915 in Stoughton, MA., daughter of the late George C. and Ena (Tucker) Trumbull she had lived in Glastonbury since 1952. Mrs. Wood graduated from New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston and Simmons College. She was a Registered Nurse at Hartford Hospital then at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and Travelers Insurance company. She and her late husband served in the Peace Corps in Nicaragua. She is survived by her six children and their spouses: Virginia Wood Foster of Tolland, Beatrice Estes Hahn of Glastonbury, Attorney Howard M. Wood, III and his wife L. Kay of Glastonbury, Clifford and Judith Wood of Vernon, Rev. Laurence and Susan Wood of Berkley, Michigan and Russell and Catherine Wood of Coventry and 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by an infant son Russell T. Wood, three sons-in-law Lloyd Foster, Bradford Estes and Arthur Hahn and a sister Luretta Trumbull. Funeral services will be private.
