Obituary of Joanne Hendrickson
Joanne L. (Menninger) Hendrickson, 85, of Glastonbury, wife of the late Frederick J. Hendrickson, died Thursday December 8, 2011 at home. Born October 18, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Boland) Menninger, she had lived in Glastonbury since 1970. Joanne was a high school teacher at Avon High School and New Britain High School, retiring in 1980. Joanne attended Northwestern on a full scholarship and graduated in1948 with a degree in language and received her Master's Degree in teaching from Central Connecticut in 1966. After graduating from Northwestern she spent several years in Germany as a civilian translator for the US Armed Forces. She is survived by her 3 sons and their wives; Joseph J. Hendrickson of Manchester, Thomas F., Sr. and Barbara Jonaitis Hendrickson of Bolton, Michael P. and Patricia Hendrickson of Glastonbury, a sister Alice Brennan of Eugene, OR and 4 grandsons; Thomas F. Hendrickson, Jr., Jonathan A. Hendrickson, Michael A. Hendrickson and Erik M. Hendrickson. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
