Obituary of Lucian Gut

Lucian J. Gut, 98, of Glastonbury, formerly of Rocky Hill, husband of the late Sophia (Lazarek) Gut, died Saturday February 22, 2014 at the Glastonbury Health Care Center. Born January 25, 1916 in New Britain, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Dziezyk) Gut, he had lived in Rocky Hill from 1951 before moving to Glastonbury in 2010. Prior to his retirement in 1981 he was a fuel technician for UTC. Lucian was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Wethersfield and after retirement he was a school crossing guard for the town of Rocky Hill for 14 years. He served in the US Army during World War 2. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Laura Gutt of Marlborough, 3 daughters Linda Keyes of Cromwell, Alexandria Okeson of Rocky Hill, Kathryn Melanson and her husband Thomas of Old Saybrook, 6 grandchildren Tom Keyes, Lesley Keyes Stone, William Okeson, Matthew Gutt, Andrew Gutt, Kimberly Malz and 8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by4 sisters, Helen Adamik and Irene Kelley, Paula Walewski and Helen Krawiec. The family would like to thank the staff at Glastonbury Health Care for their care and compassion shown to them and their father the past few years. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Tuesday February 25 from 5-7pm a service will follow at 7:00pm. Burial with military honors will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Glastonbury Health Care Center, Recreation Department, 1175 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, CT. 06033.
